What happened in Toronto Central in August 2026
Toronto Central recorded 882 sales in August 2026, 3.6% more than the same month a year earlier. Sellers brought 2,217 new listings to market, leaving 4,737 properties in inventory — 13.3% less than a year ago. At the month's pace of sales that is 5.1 months of supply, which puts Toronto Central in a buyer's market. 36% of the month's new listings sold.
The average sale price across all property types was $1,051,186, up 1.5% year over year and down 5.1% on the month. Detached homes averaged $2,246,038 against $698,321 for condo apartments — the gap that decides which side of the $1.5 million insured-financing cap a purchase here falls on.

What this means if you're buying in Toronto Central
